Baptisms

Thanks again for such a lovely service, everyone was very impressed with the way you did the Christening. I think that the more laid back modern approach that you use is exactly what the church needs!

We have been talking about Mitchell's Baptism since Sunday! We were so happy with the ceremony. You included us all, which was appreciated and we are just so grateful for the chance to bring Mitchell into the church by yourself. It was a very intimate celebration but for us a perfect one. Thankyou.

Christopher and family go back to S A next Saturday pm. There will be a void in our lives! It has been a pleasure to have the family around us and they really appreciate the highlight of their holiday was Mitchells baptism by yourself. It was such a surprise to receive the Mothers Union First Bible for Mitchell. Please thank them again on their behalf.

We are really pleased that you are thinking about baptism (sometimes called a Christening). Baptisms are wonderful occasions when we welcome babies, young children or even adults into the family of God and into our own Church family here at All Saints. Baptism is a very important step on our journey of faith and life. It is about believing in God and belonging to the church family. If you are interested in having your child baptised or in being baptised yourself the Vicar or a Lay Pastoral Assistant will call and see you to discuss the service in more detail and show you a short DVD. We welcome anyone who wishes to be baptised but if you don’t live in the parish we would encourage you to contact your own parish church unless you have a link or more specific reason for coming to All Saints.

If you wish to have a service of thanksgiving for your child this can also be arranged. This is a short service for those who may want their children to wait for adult baptism or who feel unable to make the Christian promises required of parents and Godparents and is very similar to baptism. Your child can be baptised at a later date when you feel able to make the baptismal promises.
